Get Excited about Japanese Traditional Festivals!! at MITSU-GION FESTIVAL
In Higashihirosima city, there is a co-creation program (Enjin) to solve social problems. Based on Enjin Higashihirosima Solotori Quest, our team created a new form of tourism, combining “what students want to do” and “local issues and resources in Higashihiroshima city”. This is the 2nd installment of Higashihirosima Solotori Quest!!
The 1st installment is “Cooking under the Sky ~Vol.1 Potato Tips~” in which we can harvest potatoes, cook them, and eat freshly fried potato chips in the field!

Message from the member of this program
Thank you for your interest in this project! This is Moe Katagiri, a member of Higashihirosima Solotori Quest, and a geek of Japanese traditional performing arts!!
In my hometown, Aichi Prefecture, there is a very attractive festival, Hanamatsuri. Influenced by Hanamatsuri, I became fascinated with traditional performing arts from all over Japan, and I founded and became the representative of the Japanese traditional performing arts preservation organization, Tradish.
Although I am a woman myself, I am an active festival leader. I am confident that people can get valuable experiences by “actual participation” that cannot be conveyed just by looking at them, so I have planned this participatory project.
Don’t worry, those who have concerns as below!!
– I’ve seen festivals before, but I’ve never participated in them…
– When I hear the word “tradition”, it seems like it’s a bit difficult…
– I wonder if I can do it because I don’t have physical strength…
– It might be a bit embarrassing to participate alone…
– I have never been to Akitsu Town…
Even if you’re thinking them, it’s okay!!!
The members of the Preservation team of MITSU-GION FESTIVAL will carefully teach you at practice sessions, so anyone can enjoy in the end!!
Please feel free to join us! (Of course, women can also participate!)
